Mauro Rosso, from the Chilean beach handball team, discusses the expectations for the third day and the semifinals: “It’s an incredible competition. We’ve been doing a great job with the Chilean national team for a while, and I believe that the World University Championship is a fantastic experience for us. The level of the opponents is high, and there are many players who also play for the senior national teams,” he said.
“Unfortunately, we lost both games, but by just one goal. Tomorrow, we play against Uruguay, and I believe we can make it to the final,” he concluded.
Beach volley
In beach volleyball, more than 30 matches took place today. Starting from Thursday (5), the finals will begin to take shape with the elimination round. The teams will take to the court to try to secure a spot in the round of 16, which will be played later the same day.
Brazilian player Laryssa Dalmoro, who pairs with Anne Kolbow, will take the court tomorrow and shared her experience of being in a FISU competition.
“It’s one of the greatest experiences of my life, and playing at home gives me more confidence and a stronger drive to win. The technical level is very high. It’s also my first time playing against teams from outside, but still, I have the highest expectations for tomorrow’s game. I believe we will do very well and advance to the next stage,” she said.
