It’s Brazil! The FISU World University Championship Beach Sports already has a date set to take place. The first edition of the competition will be held in Rio de Janeiro from September 2nd to 8th, and the expectation is for over 3,000 accredited people from about 50 countries.
During the Brazilian reception at the World University Summer Games in China, the President of the Brazilian University Sports Confederation, Luciano Cabral, announced Brazil as the host of this unprecedented competition and emphasized the importance of the games for the city.
“This is a long-standing project of CBDU. Brazil has already shown the world how capable we are of hosting Beach Games. Now is the opportunity to host the first FISU Beach Games. We have launched it in Rio de Janeiro, which is Brazil’s postcard to the world. Countries are eager, and now our mission is to prepare Rio to host the first World University Championship Beach Games in 2024”.
